News Update - July 2021

We have a plan, we have a referendum date, the rest is now up to you. Please vote on 30th September 2021.

Dear All

The examiner has completed his assessment of our submitted plan, and I am pleased to say has suggested only relatively minor changes and has further recommended that if these are made then we can proceed to a referendum. You may view the full examiner’s report on the Wychavon website: or just put ‘Ombersley and Doverdale Neighbourhood Plan’ in the search engine at The Parish Council has accepted Mr. Collison’s recommendations, updated the plan accordingly and the final version may be viewed here.

What happens now?

Wychavon District Council will be asked to endorse the examiner’s report on 2nd August. A referendum will be held on 30th September. If passed, then Wychavon District Council will be asked to formally adopt the plan into planning policy on 13th October 2021.

The referendum.

The referendum proceeds like any other election, but is solely for residents of Ombersley and Doverdale. Any resident eligible to vote by being on the electoral register will be sent details and a voting card. Voting will be by postal vote for those who request the same, otherwise at the polling station on 30th September. If more than 50% of those who vote do so in favour of the plan it will proceed to adoption by Wychavon District Council.

We need your votes to complete the plan. Please make all the opinions and feedback you have given to us as a community count, and all the work done to reach this point worthwhile, so that our adopted plan may influence future development decisions.

Come and see us on 17th July!

We will hold some community events over the summer, Covid restrictions permitting, when you may come and view the plan in printed form or ask questions of councillors. Details of these will follow, but as a start we will have a stand at the ‘Ombersley showcase’ event in the Memorial Hall on Saturday 17th July between 1pm and 4pm when you may call and see us if you wish.

Sue CollierMany thanks for your help and interest over the last 4 years allowing us to reach this stage.

With kind regards

Calling all Volunteers

If you feel that you would like to help, we need volunteers. The Parish Council cannot do this by themselves.  We need help with planning, communications, secretarial support, data analysis, IT and graphic design, and we will need help for manning drop-ins, coffee mornings, leaflet posting, photography and so on.

Everyone welcome!
