South Worcestershire Development Plan Review
As mentioned previously the draft ‘preferred options’ were announce by Worcester council in the Autumn, in which Ombersley has a suggested allocation of 28 new homes on the land behind Sandys Road. This is in addition to those allocated to Woodhall Lane (25) and the Racks (30) where building work has commenced.
For anyone still wishing to submit individual comments on the draft proposals the deadline is 5pm on 16th December 2019. Details of how to make comments are on the last update on this site. Click here to see more. The parish council will be submitting its comments on the community's behalf.
Potential new housing site
We wrote previously about how we have been working with the landowners of your top choices of site regarding their feasibility and deliverability. A report from a transport consultant is awaited but already issues regarding access have been highlighted, which is perhaps not unexpected. We are in dialogue with Wychavon regarding these.
Future Progress
We could produce a Neighbourhood Development Plan without commenting on a potential site, or we could work in tandem with the SWDP review and look practically at what site is deliverable. We would prefer to do the latter even though it means a delay in our time table for delivering the draft Neighbourhood plan for your consultation until most likely Autumn 2020. It is important to us all that the plan is robust and fit for purpose to carry through alongside the SWDP local plan until 2041, so we are prepared to be patient. Meantime, rest assured the draft in all other respects is taking shape nicely and your engagement, feedback and support has been invaluable for which we thank you heartily.
All About Ombersley
We have exciting news to share about our new community website "All About Ombersley". The parish council were awarded a community lottery grant to fund in part the neighbourhood plan, but also to produce a community website for the whole parish aimed at residents and visitors. The site is now live. You will each receive some information by post regarding this exciting site, but in the meantime try it out, and please give us your input and feedback.

We will keep you informed of future progress, but until then we wish you a good Christmas and our best wishes for the start of 2020.
With kind regards
