Action Plan

Ombersley and Doverdale Parish

Like all good initiatives we need a plan of action to move forward, so here's what we are doing. We need your help and input with every step, so please feel free to have your say.

Step 1. Vision Statement

A summary of our wishes for how our community will look and function 15-20 years from now.

Step 2. Strengths and Weaknesses

Summarising what we currently have which is good and what could be better.

Step 3. Objectives

Identifying the subject areas we need to cover, in the plan, in order to fulfil the vision we have outlined.

Step 4. Communication

Establishing a communication strategy to ensure the whole community is informed and involved. This can include meetings, drop-ins, a website with on-line news updates, e-mails and possibly a questionnaire.

Step 5. Steering Group

  • We have set up a steering group of volunteers. They will look at individual areas, such as housing or recreation, to justify the need for change. Every proposal must be achievable, realistic and measurable.
  • They will talk with stakeholders such as local organisations, landowners, Ombersley Conservation Trust, businesses and public offices such as Natural England, the Environment Agency and Historic England.

These initial steps will take at least 12 months but a draft plan should evolve, which will then require professional input to be refined before being shown to the community for comment.

Remember, everyone's opinion matters and anyone can help.

Calling all Volunteers

If you feel that you would like to help, we need volunteers. The Parish Council cannot do this by themselves.  We need help with planning, communications, secretarial support, data analysis, IT and graphic design, and we will need help for manning drop-ins, coffee mornings, leaflet posting, photography and so on.

Everyone welcome!
